Quinyx FlexForce and Alna Business Solutions join forces to provide flexible Workforce Management to Lithuania

Quinyx FlexForce AB and Alna Business Solutions UAB announced today that the Vilnius based ERP solutions provider has been designated the exclusive Quinyx FlexForce Business Partner in Lithuania. The agreement is the first step in introducing the Quinyx FlexForce flagship brand in Workforce Management to the Baltic States.

Alna Business Solutions will soon begin delivering localised Lithuanian versions of the FlexForce scheduling application. The localisation process incorporates working time directives, legal requirements and business needs for each country as well as a user interface in the local language.

UCMS Group Improves Human Capital Management at Alpha Bank

UCMS Group today announced the successful implementation of an end-to-end human resource management (HRM) system at Alfa Bank, the largest privately owned bank in Russia. During the three years of the project, a complete large-scale automation of the HR processes of the bank was carried out, as well as the integration with other business applications.

The new HRM system based on modern technology has been rolled out to all regional branches of the bank, and has become the first unified human capital management system within the Alfa Bank Group.

“Prior to the cooperation with UCMS Group we didn’t have any end-to-end HR solution that provided the ability to manage all the key HR services on a single platform”, said Svetlana Potapova, Chief Technology Officer of HR systems, Alfa-Bank Group . “In the early 2000's there were attempts to implement such a solution, but for various reasons they were not completed. The biggest challenge of this project has been the fact that there were no solutions on the market that could have met the specific requirements of the Bank at such point in time”.

Cervera Chooses Quinyx FlexForce to Help Manage Growth

Quinyx FlexForce announced today that a contract has been signed to supply employee scheduling software to Cervera, a Swedish chain of 70 retail stores offering quality cookware, glassware, tableware and appliances.

FlexForce is a Web-based scheduling system combining powerful planning and forecasting features with personnel communication and networking for both in-store employees and managers. FlexForce was judged a particularly good fit for Cervera, with its stores located throughout Sweden. With its Web browser interface, FlexForce enables employees to log in and manage scheduling issues quickly and efficiently while cutting administration time for supervisors. Analysts at TAdviser compared and ranked all HRM systems currently offered on the Russian and CIS market according to functionality. The results of the research show that Quinyx WorkForce, a Software on Demand (SoD) solution, is a first-tier HRM system containing all 29 functional modules present in the top category of the A-class ranking, along with the SAP and Oracle solutions.

The survey reveals a new trend in Russian and CIS HR management: leading companies are turning to HRM software solutions powered by SoD technology.

TAdviser analysts noted that the SoD concept "is especially relevant in conditions of economic crisis, when companies face severe cost cutting". Perhaps most importantly, SoD emphasises the two fundamental TCO/ROI indicators that are "critical for HRM systems selection".

Strong Quinyx sales despite down market

New customer acquisitions for Quinyx software-on-demand products also grew at a strong clip in the first quarter, maintaining the momentum built up throughout 2008. However, winning new customers is only part of the picture, according to UCMS Group COO Jan Palmkvist.

"To show growth in overall sales, you have to retain and up-sell to existing customers as well, and that’s just what we’re doing," Palmkvist said. "That makes us confident that our offering is properly tuned to the current market challenges."

Quinyx software-on-demand products are designed to give customers scalable solutions for Human Resources, payroll, time scheduling and other workforce management functions, reducing the high cost of licensed, installed software while providing rapid updates to meet changing regulations and taxation rules.

The Max Hamburger chain of Sweden recently selected Quinyx for employee scheduling after a highly competitive evaluation process. Quinyx FlexForce was named the leading company in the category ‘Best International Growth’ for the mid-west region of Sweden. In announcing the prize, the jury said that Fjellborg "has in a short period of time successfully developed and launched an innovative product that has revolutionised its customers’ personnel administration both in Sweden and abroad. UCMS Executive is Featured Speaker at Technology Entrepreneurs’ Seminar

Addressing an audience that included Lars Leijonborg, Minister for Higher Education and Research in the Swedish government, Fjellborg described his experience in developing and commercialising the Web-based employee scheduling software Quinyx FlexForce. Fjellborg founded Calnet AB at the age of 18 in 2005, when he was a part-time employee at a Stockholm McDonald’s restaurant. Quinyx FlexForce is now in use by some 87,000 McDonald’s employees at 1,400 restaurants in Sweden, Denmark and the UK.

Calnet was acquired by UCMS Group in 2007 and FlexForce was integrated into the Quinyx line of workforce administration software and services.

Fjellborg said his general education in the Swedish school system and specialised training at the Stockholm School of Economics gave him the background to see an opportunity in the emerging field known as Software on Demand.

"Software on Demand is the perhaps the most important trend in the software business today,” Fjellborg said. “It’s going to dramatically change the way people purchase and use computer programs. Any computer user can understand the value of having access to an application anytime and anywhere."

Leijonborg warned of shrinking competitiveness if small countries like Sweden don’t do more to nurture entrepreneurial talent. "I believe that some people are just born to be entrepreneurs, and not everybody has the right personality," he said. "But education is still crucial to turn natural talent into real skills."

McDonald's UK selects QuinTime workforce scheduling software

Stockholm, 11 March 2008 - Calnet has secured an order from McDonald's UK for a nationwide installation of its QuinTime software. The software will be used by all of McDonald's 1192 restaurants in the country, and will help 67,000 employees to manage their own working schedules. The QuinTime software, known as "McTime" within McDonald's, requires little training by the users. It gives flexible and part time employees instant access to work schedules and available slots. Each member of staff gets maximum flexibility and control of his or her own working schedule.

The first organization to use the application was McDonald's in Sweden where it is implemented in 176 stores. It has proved exceptionally popular, with 80 per cent of the staff logging in at least once per week and 30 per cent at least once per day. Apart from practical functions such as the work schedule, it encompasses a valuable community portal for staff members. In the latest annual employee survey the system was awarded the best Information Channel by the 12,000 employees who participated. UCMS Group strengthens Finance Team to support expanding Operations

Budapest, September 21, 2007 - UCMS Group EMEA (UCMS) announced the appointment of Ms. Szilvia Molnar as VP Finance to drive various financial and accounting initiatives across the companys regional operations in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) including the CIS and Nordic countries.

The companys rapid expansion has been through a combination of mergers and acquisitions as well as through organic growth. Moscow June 21, 2007 - Software 2007 in Santa Clara is an annual event which attracts experts and analysts from leading IT companies from all over the world. It is considered to be a great venue for identifying new products, technologies and trends.

Per-Olof Myrén, UCMS Group EMEA Board Member and the UCMS Product Committee Chairman, visited Software 2007 and answered our questions on the latest ideas and trends.

Q: What were the most discussed new trends in the application software industry?

PoM: The move away from traditional in-house software applications to hosted on demand web based web applications drew a lot of attention at the conference. In addition to Software-as-a-Service or SaaS, the Soft-ware 2007 participants were using the terms Cloud and On Demand computing. Basically, there are two main aspects to On demand computing; firstly, the data is hosted externally and access is over the internet via a browser and secondly, payment is on a subscription or usage basis. End users are also expecting business software applications to have similar qualities as the popular web portals. The web based software applications need to be responsive, incorporate multi-media content and be more intuitive and user-friendly than traditional web applications. The latest trend is RIA or Rich Internet Applications which are a set of principles software vendors are now striving towards.

Q: There is an opinion that not only start-up, but the software giants are also moving to On Demand web-applications. Can you comment on this?

PoM: Yes this trend towards On Demand applications is true. Salesforce.com is one of the companies leading the way in the On Demand software arena and they are further expanding their offerings by adopting the latest Adobe Flex 2 technology. SAP and many of the other large players are redeveloping and moving towards On Demand solutions and when this starts happening, it usually indicates that the trend is here to stay.

Q: What are the main advantages of On Demand web applications as compared to traditional software?

Job description: The chief accountant applies the accounting principles and procedures in order to analyse the financial information, prepares financial reports corectly and in time. The main responsabilities are: - Records the accounting entries and prepares the trial balance; - Prepares the statutory financial statements; - Oversees all accounting transactions; - Calculates the payroll and prepares all associated statements; - Preparation, and analysis of, Group reports including budgets, cash flow reports, receivables ageing reports and monthly management accounts; - Supervises the accounting team. Requirements: - Minimum 5 years of experience in the accounting field; At least 1 year experience in a similar position; - Bachelor degree in the economic field; - Expert or licenced accountant certification; - Good knowledge of English; - Very good knowledge of accounting and payroll legislation; - Pro-active attitude and problem-solving orientation; - Very good organizing and planning activities; - Good analytical skills; - Confidentiality and business ethics; - Good verbal and writing communication.
